Synergy:  working together - Synergy is the term used to describe a situation where the final outcome of a system is greater than the sum of its parts.

Fuller Riding Instruction and Sorrell Hill Equestrian Center - have combined synergies - Marci's knowledge, skills and energy with Sorrell Hill Equestrian Center facility and resources.  A sum that is greater than the two parts separate.

Our Lesson Program - Our Philosophy

“Keep the Horse between you and the dirt…”

With Marci and Sorrell Hill we offer an outstanding lesson program where we teach Horsemanship and Riding Skills.  Safety always being first and foremost, it parallels proper handling and care for the horses.  Then we emphasize having fun while learning riding skills.  We instruct an English style of riding with a primary focus on Hunter Equitation and Jumping.  Commonly known as HUNTER - JUMPER.

Marci is our Professional Instructor and Trainer at Sorrell Hill Stables.  She has been working with horses since she was 6 years old.  Marci holds a degree in Equine Studies and Training from Findlay University and has been sharing her knowledge of horsemanship and riding skills for the last 14 years in New York State.  Previously to that she had Trained and Taught in Michigan.

Our philosophy is a “from the ground up” system for learning.  A good foundation with basics is necessary to build a skillful rider.  We teach that there is more to riding than the time spent in the saddle.  To do this we keep things in a fun, informal and in a relaxed atmosphere.  Everyone is on a first name basis so that everyone is equal.  The informality helps everyone feel confident and feel free to ask questions and share information.  Even though we may compete individually, we are a team that works and helps each other.  We all share our knowledge and skills so that we build an atmosphere of understanding, patience and responsibility to each other, to ourselves and to our horses.

All first lessons are a private ˝ hour lesson.  This is an evaluation process for aptitude and skill level.  The rider’s interests and goals will be discussed and a lessoning plan will start to develop.  Lessons will involve handling, grooming, tacking and riding.  Everyone will progress at their own pace.  Students and parents of students are encouraged to set up a time to review any questions or concerns that develop.  Riding is like most everything else – practice practice practice…  Lesson frequency is determined by the student’s desire, commitments and of course budget.  Whether a student lessons once per week or wants to become more involved we offer opportunities for every level of commitment.

Advancing students are offered flexible lease options and opportunities to Horse Show throughout the year.  You and your instructor will discuss this as you advance along your goals.
